hummingbirds body design

There are 338 known species of hummingbirds and every one of them is different when it comes to appearance. These birds have really beautiful plumage, mostly their feathers are green or brown (but all of species have at least a few green feathers). They have iridescent markings and its created by light refractions and we can see many different colours at different angels and lights (colors from brown, green, blue to purple, pink and red). Iridescent feathers look more vibrant than the simply pigmented feathers. These birds can also use their plumage to show off colors (to attract others) or they can hide colors in order to hide from threats which is amazing ability. There is rare kind of hummingbirds called albinos. Every year only a couple of them are reported. They have white plumage and red eyes but some of them may have different colors of their plumage. Hummingbirds have really unique look and I find them quite wonderful animals. source:  Hummingbird: Description & Interes...

penguins threats

Penguins face many difficulties in life. 13 of 18 penguin species are threatened or endangered. More than half of historic penguin species have already gone extinct. Humans are the gravest threat to these animals. One of the threats is overfishing. Penguins feed on fish and when fishermen work near penguins they take their food. Penguins are starving because of lack of access to food. Also penguins can suffer from fishing techniques which are harmful for them. A lot of penguins are being tangled in fishing nets and they have no way out. They can suffer from injuries or even drown. Another thing is that even though penguin hunting or egg harvesting is illegal it still occurs. Specially in areas where penguins live close to humans. Climate change is also dangerous for them. Warmer temperatures melt ice and it reduce breeding space for many penguins. Difference in temperature change the currents and change where food can be found.  source:  Threats to Penguins and Penguin Conserv...

These eggs can be pretty small. Females lay a lot of eggs at once just to make sure at least one of them survive. Eggs can be laid from spring, summer or fall. Second stage is larva (caterpillar). This stage can last from two weeks to month or longer. Last stage is adult stage. Then caterpillar is already a butterfly and they cant grow any longer. Adult job is to mate and lay eggs. Their wings are really helpful for finding the ri...
