hedgehogs spikes

Hedgehogs have spikes in order to protect themselves from predators and threats. Its their defense mechanism. But in fact hedgehogs spikes dont hurt. Whether spikes hurt or not depends on the position of hedgehog. When hedgehog is in relaxed position you can hold it without hurting. Hedgehog feel safe and comfortable spikes lay flat on its body. But if hedgehog feel threatened spikes raise and he turns into a ball. And then when someone tries to touch hedgehog, he will be hurt by spikes. If hedgehog pokes you, you wont feel feel much pain so its not that scary. Also hedgehogs use their spikes as protection from falling because they are kinda clumsy. the importance of bees

Bees are really important to environment. They are organized and they work hard. They are pollinators and take part in many aspects of ecosystem. Bees support the growth of many plants which are food source and shelter for other animals. They produce honey and humans are harvesting their honey. But in fact honey is made to feed colonies during cold winters. Honey is also consumed by birds, raccoons, possums and insects. Bees pollinate many plants thus plants can grow and produce food. They play a key role in food we eat and without them many plants would simply die. Bees have their hives but they also help build homes for many other animals. Also many tree species like wilows couldnt grow without bees who pollinate them. If not bees animals who depend on these different plants to survive would die off. green turtles

Green turtles are one of the largest sea turtles and a herbivores. They really matter and have impact on sea life because of food that they consume. These turtles feed on seagrasses and algae. Seagrass is quickly digested and it becomes recycled nutrients to many animals and plants there. Seagrass also works as nurseries for fish which are needed in many fisheries and people eat them. Green turtles do lot of good things but unfortunately they are classified as endangered species. They have to face many threats and its not that easy for them to live peacefully. They are threatened by fishing gear, they are hunted and their eggs are harvested. These turtles are illegal trade and hundreds of them are harvested every year especially in part of Asia. In West Africa they are killed for use in medicine and ceremonies. Turtle hazard is known as bycatch and its a serious problem. Quokkas are marsupials and one of the smallest wallabies. They have short fluffy fur, rounded ears and look like big rats. But in fact quokkas are part of kangaroo family and they share similar characteristics with them. They are native to Rottnest Island (in Australia) and there are almost 12 000 of them. Quokkas are classified as threatened species because of naturals diseases like fires and other animlas which are big threats. Quokkas became tourist attraction of Island because of their cute apperance. These animals are known as 'world's happiest animals' because of their smile and people adore them. Visitors visiting Island are sometimes feeding them with food such as bread or chips which may make them ill. Human food can be very harmful for quokkas making them malnourished or dehydrated and its important not to feed them.
