China, Europe and US extremely drought in 2022
Europe and some parts of China have experienced extreme temperatures this summer. Most of the Europe has experienced much drier weather this summer than in other years. We experienced droughts in the past but recently we went through increasingly hot summers with high temperature record set. Also many areas in China are experiencing extreme drought. This problem belongs in Arica too. This summers Europe drought may be the worst that Europe has experienced in 500 years. In late August this year some parts of Europe suffered from a soil moisture deficit. And its not that it rains less but it got much warmer. Sciencist say that we will be experiencing more persistent droughts. Dry conditions affect agriculture, energy generation and transport. Inlcuding shipping disruption as a result of critically low levels in summer. When it comes to China they experienced extreme heat too. Due to lack of rain China's biggest river (Yangtze) shrank. The rainfall was 60% less than normal. Larger areas in China are struggling with drought but in some areas heavy rains led to floods. Scientist say that when areas of drought grow, water falls somewhere in samller areas, and that is worsening flooding. Drought of the earth is dangerous, it leads to poor water quality and increase risk of wildfire. It also affects wildlife, plants, soil and ecosystem. Many organisms can't adapt to drought conditions and it do lots of damage to habitats. As the effect of dry earth many plants will slow their growth time or wilt completely, so there might be problem with farms and farmlands. There can be other problems such as economic and social, there can appear conflicts over usage of water and food. Drought comes naturally but humans can make earth more vulnerable to things like higher temperatures and then its more exposed to threats.
