Diwali festival of lights

In India most important festival is Diwali, its time of the year when they celebrate light over darkness and good over evil. These five days of Diwali are marked by prayer, fireworks, feasts, family gatherings and charietable giving. Its widely celebrated and its a religious festival, that celebrates victory of good over evil. Diwali festival differ from region to region and holiday rituals differ too. Theres something in common, family gatherings, lots of sweets, fireworks and lightning of caly lamps. They symbolize the inner light protecting each household form darkness. Each of five days has its own meaning. On first day they pray to the goddes Lakshimi, bake sweets and clean and on the next day they decorate houses. Third day is most important, people spend time with close ones, make feasts and set ablaze lamps and fireworks. Fourth day marks the new year and its time for wishes. Last day is a day to honor siblings.

Diwali has become biggest holiday season in India and its well known and celebrated.
